The 2009 World Tantrix Championship was won by Attila Mikulan of Hungary. International Tantrix Master Rob Morton of Knaresborough beat Australian Brad Kast to take the Bronze medal after Niklas Andersson of Sweden. results >

World Tantrix Open (Edinburgh, 13-14 June 2009)14 Jun 2009
The World Tantrix Open (a real tiles, face-to-face version of the online World Championship) was held at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh on 13-14 June 2009. Niklas Andersson was the winner followed by Hungary's Attila 'the Hun' Mikulan, with Belfast's Simon Wright winning the bronze medal and finishing as the top Brit. Home players also won U18, Challengers and Rising Stars medals. more >

Congratulations to Simon Wright from Belfast who became the fifth GB player to reach the World Championship Final in the last 5 years. The Final lasted 11 games, with 2 tiebreaks, last year's runner-up Yoseph Phillips from Israel just managing to prevail this time. Over 170 players from 25 countries took part. results >
